Spring Haul! | 2016

Hey everyone,

Happy Easter weekend (almost!)

I hope you're all doing well.

Recently I've been doing some shopping.
1) Because I needed certain items
2) I never had anything for spring
3) Retail therapy helps university assignment stress.

I thought you guys would be interested in what I bought so I thought i'd do a post. I've also filmed a video for my Youtube channel which is yet to be edited - but it's been filmed so there's step one!

I went into New Look a few weeks back and bought a lovely skirt. And I mean lovely! I was this one...
It was perfect to look at, I loved the mix of colours that you could dress up or dress down. This style of skirt is my favourite I have 3 of the same style, so I instantly bought it with a black zipped vest top. For £15 you can't really go wrong.
But I brought it home ready to wear on a night out and it didn't fit! I was so surprised because it's my normal size, which everything else fits me? And it wasn't even that it didn't fit a little bit - by the time I had shimmied it up my waist so it wasn't uncomfortable, you could see everything!
I was so upset when I took it back to New Look to exchange it for the bigger size and they didn't have it in! Maybe me and the skirt just weren't meant to be...

So I had a look around after my small melt down in the shop and came across this lovely spring/summer top. It was a thin material, white with thin navy stripes.
The best thing about it was that it was a t-shirt style so I knew it was going to be comfortable. It also had lovely big white daisies at the bottom of the design right the way around - cute!

It was the same price as the skirt so I didn't lose out on any money either - yay!

Daisy Top - £15 New Look

I've been back to New Look since buying this T-shirt as I wanted some more bits from there.
I decided I needed some new jeans, some that were a light denim as I have the really light blue, navy blue and black. So I wanted some that were inbetween dark denim and light (do you understand? If you do well done! haha)

I trust New Look jeans the most. Fair enough you can go to Primark and get some for like £11 instead of £23 but with Primark I find once you wash them once they instantly fade, their sizes are very off too - I have to go for a bigger size if I buy them in Primark, just to fit my waist, but then they won't fit my legs they'd be too baggy!

So no, I always go to New Look. Pay that little bit extra but they last a lot longer and are better quality.

I wanted some high waisted and some that I could perhaps do that DIY knee rip thing with. I found the perfect colour and ones with really nice coloured buttons on too.

Striped top - £5 Primark

I also went and had a look at the sale in New Look and found a lovely white jumper with gorgeous crochet shoulders.
I thought it would go lovely with my new jeans or even some black jeans.

It's quite cropped in my opinion so I'd definitely wear with high waisted jeans or leggings as i'm definitely not body confident yet - but if you are then GO YOU! I applaud you, get your flesh out girrrrrrrl!

That's the last of what I bought from New Look!

I then popped into Primark to have a look at some bits and I will say they have some gorgeous summer/holiday pieces in at the minute, for really cheap too! I'll be going back to get some stuff for my jolly holly's in the summer!

I spotted this really cute T-shirt (seen above with the jeans). It was only £5 and was surprisingly a really lovely fabric, really soft. It was a slight V neck and has the design that's shorter at the front, slightly longer at the back. It was really nice and thought I could definitely rock it with either my new jeans, my black jeans and some converse!
£5 Primark

From Primark I also bought some black knickers and a plain nude bra (£4) you can't go wrong with cheap underwear!

I also nipped into Matalan as I never really go in there - and have since decided that perhaps I should.
It has some really nice and good quality clothing in there and for good prices too!

I picked up a lovely black and white striped blouse which is made with a lovely soft fabric and is buttoned at the back.

And for just £8 I can't really complain, I definitely wanted some other pieces in there but didn't have the money :(

Matalan - £8

Missguided recently had a 50% sale on too - which was very dangerous as I wanted to buy everything!

But I knew I needed a new coat. I only really have my parka and my leather jacket. They are both for different seasons really. I wanted something that was comfy, looks good for formal and informal as well as keeps me warm!

I knew which sort of style I wanted so when I found a one I liked with 50% off I was so happy!

It was £30 reduced from £60 so I knew it was going to be amazing quality.
When it arrived I fell in love, the colour is lovely and it goes with so many outfits - thank you Missguided!

So there you go! There's my little shopping spree. I speak about them a little more on my video so keep an eye out for my video. Please go and Subscribe (click here!) and give my videos a like, I'd really appreciate it!

Thanks so much for reading - let me know in the comments what you've been buying for spring!

Lots of love,
Amie

A day In The Life: Tea Thursday.

Hey!
Today I thought I'd do a different kind of post: A Day In The Life.

So I woke up at around 10ish, and it was raining which just makes me want to lay in bed allllllllll day. I laid in my bed for a while, scrolling through my social medias to see what i've missed whilst I was asleep. I don't think I could name one person who doesn't scroll through their phone like a newspaper!

Then I got up eventually, got washed and ready. I put on my burgundy jumper styled dress which I got from Primark, I am in love with it! I paired in with my black tights as it was a miserable day and put on my black suede boots which are also from Primark. (£8, bargain!!)

For my makeup, I always use my Nivea moisturiser before applying anything.
I wasn't feeling foundation really as it was raining lots, so I used my Maybelline Eye Eraser over the majority of my face, rubbing it onto my skin with my Real Technique Perfect Face brush.
I then used the Stay Matte face powder over my face, followed by Rimmel bronzer on my cheeks around my chin and forehead and the Rimmel London blusher in Santa Rose with my Real Technique blusher brush.
I then used my Soap & Glory eyebrow pencil to fill in and then my Roller Lash mascara on my eyelashes to give me the full eye look.
I took this image of my make-up a few hours later so it looks a little faded...

I packed up my laptop and things I needed for the day and got on the bus to my town centre.
I met my Mam whilst she was on her lunch for work. We popped into WHSmith, where I bought some more stationary bits for University.

I got a planner that will go on my desk, it displays the days of the week and has a notes section on the side. (middle of image, £8.99)
I also got a list item with 'Stuff to do' because I am obsessed with writing lists and I love how it can peel off easy, I hate when you pull a page out and it gets all messy, nope. (Right of image, £6.99)
Then we were just about to leave and I spotted a 15/16 Diary that matched my desk planner, so I had to buy it... (Left of image, £10.99)
Mam bought all of this for me, so thanks Mammy.....

Then I left Mam as she had to go back to work, so I decided to go to Tea @ Hart (blog post will be linked about this place, it's unreal!)

I ordered my usual, Yorkshire Tea, and sat applying for jobs in Sunderland. I have to get myself a cute little tea set like this one, especially the strainer!
I also caught up on my Youtube watching and spoke to my best friend Zhiyin who is still in China, but is coming home to me soon!!

Of course then I got tempted but the beautiful cakes Jeni makes! I went for the lemon cake which was gluten free, with a lemon curd centre and cream on the side. Wow it was gorgeous!

This is an incredibly random post I know but I took some pretty photos so I thought why not, I mean pictures with CAKE

August Favourites!

Hey guys!

Wow August flew over and for me its already just over a week before I leave for Uni!

So I have quite a lot of favourites this month, from quite a few categories, so lets go!

Beauty:

I purchased the Maybelline Eye Eraser Concealer in the colour light and it is amazing!! It goes onto the skin so smoothly.
I tend to put it under my eyes, on my forehead, down the sides of my nose, on my chin and on the sides of my cheeks. It goes a long way and really makes the difference on my skin, I either put it on top of my foundation or sometimes I even use it instead of foundation as its such good coverage.
I use my Real Techniques perfect face brush to buff it into my skin.
I highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for an amazing concealer, I do love my Wake Me Up but this one takes the trophy.
I got it for £7.99 from Boots and although it's a small bottle, its great coverage- so worth it!!!

I've also loved the Tanya Burr Lipgloss in Chic.
It's not one of her new releases, although they do look amazing so I will be investing.
This one is from her original collection as I got it for £1.99 in TJ Hughes.
It's such a lovely colour- like a pink nude, it also smells like chupa chup lollies which is unreal! It has great coverage and lasts a long time so I'll definitely be getting some more autumn shades!

Last in beauty is the unreal Benefit Roller Lash mascara. It's INCREDIBLE.
I didn't really want to justify spending £20 on a mascara as that's really steep in my eyes but I seen all the amazing reviews from people including Zoella so my boyfriend bought me it for passing my A-Levels.
Wow.
I'll never look back.
It goes on so easy and the brush allows to get into the inner corner lashes that are usually missed by many mascaras. It's amazing quality and makes my lashes look huge!
Even the design of the bottle is beautiful, I love the lid which is like a patterned pink.
If you're abit like me and struggle to justify spending that much on 1 item of make-up, then just go for it and you won't regret it!

Fragrances:

I've liked a couple of fragrances this month.

I've been loving the Soap and Glory - Soft and Sexy fragrant body spray.
I got this for Christmas in a set and i've been obsessed with it recently. It has such a distinct smell - which is lovely.
I tend to spray it over my skin after a shower/bath or over my clothes before I leave the house and when i'm walking outside I can still smell it on myself.
I don't know how much it was as it was a gift but I can't imagine it being that expensive, especially when they come in sets.

I've also been loving Zoella's new body mist; Let's Spritz!
I had her first one and I still use it, it smells lovely but this new one is gorgeous and the packaging is so beautiful - with a really cute polka dot lid and on the back is a detailed white pattern which you can see through the front.
It has a tutti-frutti smell to it which is really noticeable and makes you go aaaahhh when you smell it! I really do recommend it!
Purchased from Superdrug for £7 (it's on offer for £1 off!)

Clothing:
I have one item this month which i've really liked.
It's this shirt from Primark which I actually bought off someone on the buying/selling app called DEPOP.
It's a really cute two-strap top with a pretty boho pattern.
The back is really cute!

Youtube Channel:
I have loved JDRmakeup. She's a girl called Jess and she makes such cute videos.
I was really loving her university advice and hauls and then I subscribed to her vlogging channel JDRvlogs and they're really fun to watch, she just finished Vlogust.
I recommend going over to her channel and watching she is great!!

Song:
Well i've been loving Little Mix new song Black Magic

Also finally Justin Bieber's new song What Do You Mean? is out! Being a belieber at heart, i'm over the moon he has got back to his old self and producing really good music with supportive people around him!
The music video is really awesome too.
So proud!!

Extra:
So this month i've been buying a lot of magazines to read to fill my time.
I bought Glamour magazine and seen that there was advertisement for Juicy Couture with really cool quotes on pages. So I had an idea.
I knew I had a frame with nothing in so I neatly cut out the page of the quote I liked and placed it in the frame.
Now I have a lovely unique wall hanging that no one else will have and will add a great touch to my new uni room!

Hope you enjoyed this post!!
See you all next week!!
