Starting University: Stationary Haul!

Hey guys,

So in a couple of weeks I start University as a Fresher!

What's more exciting than buying new stationary! I'm a real stationary geek, you know the person who checks the GSM (thickness) of the paper before buying the notepad? Yeah thats me.

I mainly got my stuff from ASDA because I find you get better stationary from supermarkets and they're cheap too. ASDA had some really cute stuff in this term with the 'back to school' range so I couldn't help myself.

A lot of the basic stationary was under £1, such as rulers, pencils etc. The most expensive thing I bought was the planner or the folder, which were around £3-£4, everything else was below that.

I'm just going to insert lots of images as I doubt i'll need to explain what most of the stuff is!

This planner looks so useful as its not an ordinary diary, it lists the days and makes it easier to plan what you need to do!

I already have a lot of useful and barely used stationary bits in my house, so i'm also taking them with me, as well as some new pens that I bought.
I also bought what looks like a pencil pot but its actually a bathroom pot what you're meant to put your toothbrushes and things in, but it was so cute and on sale, I thought i'd use it for my bits and bobs!

I'm also using a Cath Kidston hand bag that I got as a gift for christmas, as a place to store all my stationary until I get to uni, because I still need to buy some more pots to put things in as well as some more notepads, etc...

Well thanks for clicking on this post, I hope you like what i've bought and find buying stationary as fun as I do!

I've also bought the majority of my flat things now, so if you'd like a similar post on them bits then let me know below in the comments

Recent Beauty Purchases!

Hey guys,
Recently I splurged quite a bit on some beauty bits, I needed some summer shades and it's not very often I spend quite a lot on make-up so I thought i'd get some whilst I had the chance. I went to TJ Hughes, Avon and Boots for these bits, so prices may vary depending on where you buy them from.

First, I went into TJ Hughes as the beauty items in there are so cheap but still really good quality, and have well known brands for discount prices!

I bought Tanya Burr's nail varnish in the colour Midnight Sparkles, it's a really dark purple with glitter through it, it's lovely although on my nails it looks a lot darker than it does in the bottle. It's going to be perfect for the autumn months as its so warm and for £1.99 I can't wait to buy the other colours for the upcoming months! It's very thick and does take quite a while to dry- on my nails anyway, but still it's very pigmented and a lovely shade.

Also in the Tanya Burr range, I got her lip gloss in the colour 'chic' and it is gorgeous! Its so glossy and pigmented. It doesn't dry up your lips or stay sticky for a long time. A bonus is it smells like strawberry chupa chups lollies! This was from TJ Hughes too for only £1.99, I can't wait to get some of the darker tones for the upcoming autumn months as they looked lovely too.

I bought a Laval Twist Up Kohl eyeliner pencil. It's black and so easy to use, its a crayon type and is soft on the eyes, I use it on my bottom lid on my water line and it goes on so soft. I got this for £1.99 as well (I think) and its definitely worth the price.

Lastly from TJ Hughes I bought the Real Technique blush brush for around £7-£8, it was such a bargain as RT brushes are so expensive in drug stores so was a lot cheaper to buy in TJ Hughes than it was in Boots, where I also went. Its so amazing and soft, it works best with me with soft strokes along the cheek bones and I love it. I now have this one and the expert face brush. Slowly building up my collection!

Then I went to Boots and spent a fortune in there...

I had to get a new blush for my new brush and there was so many. I decided to get the Rimmel London lasting finish soft touch blush in the shade 010 - Santa Rose. It only cost me £4! I loved it at the time and when I tested it on my hand it looked lovely, but unfortunately when I use it on my cheeks, it isn't very pigmented *sad face*, so I think i'll just need to get a darker shade. I'm open to suggestions!

Then I got the Collection Volumising Mascara in Extra Volume Waterproof. It's so thick and gives great volume on the eyes in just a few seconds. It's in the shade 17 ultra black.
It's my favourite at the minute and seems to be long lasting!

I also bought another one of Kate Moss' Rimmel Lipsticks in the nude shade 03. It's my favourite and in actual fact, my mother took the other one from me for a 'borrow' and I haven't seen it since, so I thought i'd be nice and let her keep it and buy my own, especially since i'll need it for starting University. Its such a lovely nude and so soft like all the Kate Rimmel lipsticks.

The next two items are what I chose to buy because i'd seen so many people raving about them on Youtube and various blogs, the one that really persuaded me was Lucy and Lydia's July favourites video (I think).

I got the Maybelline Color Drama lip pencil in the shade Minimalistic - 140. It's such a beautiful summery pink- kind of a nude with a bit of sparkle It's lovely and soft. It's my first lip pencil and it has made me addicted! I even colour my full lips with it and it doesn't dry your lips out. Unfortunately on a night out, the lid came off and ruined the nib slightly, but it still works - phew! This beauty only cost me £4.99 (I think), bargain!

I also seen SO many people talking about the Maybelline Instant Anti-Age, Eraser Eye Concealer, so I had to get one in the colour light. Wow. It is definitely worth them great reviews. Plus its so cute to use! You twist the top and the little spongey thing on the top is magically inserted with concealer and you just rub it on! I have even went as far as only putting this on instead of foundation, as it's so light and has great coverage. It was quite pricey at around £8 from Boots but it's so worth it, it's my new favourite over the Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer; which I still love and use. So I definitely recommend this, even if its just for the cute applicator at the top!

Lastly, from the Avon I invested in the Solutions stretch mark cream. It haven't used it yet, but I've read lots of good reviews and it seems easy enough to use, so i'll let you guys know how it goes!

Well, Thanks for giving this a read.
Feel free to leave some comments & suggestions on posts you would like to see & any beauty products I should invest in!

Top 5 Nail Polishes This Summer!

Lately i've been growing my nails so buying new nail polishes is a real encouragement to not bite them! Here is my top 5 nail varnishes this summer...

The first one is George's Gel Pro in the colour Mint Green. Its a beautiful bright colour that really stands out off your nails. I usually prefer the pale colours but this is gorgeous!
A bargain at only £3 for such good quality and pigmentation!

Next is the Nail Paint by Barry M in the colour Peach Melba. Again is a gorgeous summer colour like an orangey-coral, it's really pigmented and dries super quick!
This is only £2.99 from Boots which is amazing!

I've also been loving No7 Gel-Look Shine in Sweet Lilac. It's exactly what it's called, a cute lilac that looks lovely on your nails, it's actually what i'm wearing throughout these photos! This one is a little more pricey at £7 from Boots, but it's definitely worth it as it stays on a long time without chipping, for me it was around 3-4 days before I needed to redo my nails.

Next is Seventeen's Gel Colour in Pink Flamingo and wow it lives up to it's name, its SO PINK, like not pastel pink or fuchsia, just full on bright pink, but it's lovely! So summery and really stands out. On the packaging it also states you can get up to 8 days wear out of it, but I've never had it on that long, I like changing up my colours too much! Plus its name is really cute...
A bargain at £3.99 from Boots!

Lastly, is this nail polish from Primark Beauty, unfortunately is doesn't have a name on it, boo! It's a jazzy metallic which i'd say is closest to silver with a hint of purple? Maybe? Anyway its stunning, i'm obsessed with it lately! It's coverage is brilliant after only 2 coats the colour is really bold, and for just 50p from Primark, you really cannot go wrong!

I did a swatch of each one on a piece of cardboard so you could get a look at how they look, even though the image doesn't quite so them justice!

Thanks a lot for reading this blog, I hope i've helped recommend a few polishes for this season!
